  • DAY 1, THU

    CAIRO

    Arrival in Cairo. A Homeric Tours representative welcomes you to Egypt, assists you through airport formalities and transfers you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Cairo.
  • DAY 2, FRI

    CAIRO / ASWAN / NILE CRUISE

    After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, visit the High Dam, a masterpiece of modern engineering built to end the disastrous Nile floods, the Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk. In the afternoon enjoy a scenic Felucca ride on the Nile. (Timing depends on sunset). Overnight in Aswan.

  • DAY 3, SAT

    NILE CRUISE

    Breakfast at hotel and the rest of the morning at leisure. After lunch, sail to Kom Ombo. Visit the Kom Ombo Temple dedicated to two gods, Sobek and Haroeris. Sail to Edfu for overnight.

  • DAY 4, SUN

    NILE CRUISE

    Today you will visit the Horus Temple of Edfu, one of the well-preserved temples in Egypt. Sail to Luxor (ancient Thebes). In the evening, visit the Luxor Temple, a large ancient Egyptian temple complex that was built during the New Kingdom. The temple is known for its monumental architecture, including colossal statues and a grand colonnade. Overnight in Luxor.

  • DAY 5, MON

    NILE CRUISE / CAIRO

    After breakfast, visit the most important area of the Nile, the West Bank, site of the stunning tombs at the Valley of the Kings, VAlley of the Queens, Queen Hatshepsut Temple and the giant colossi of Memnon. Continue to the East Bank to visit Karnak Temple before returning to Cairo. Overnight at your hotel in Cairo.

    CAIRO

    Today you will enjoy a full day tour of Cairo, visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza and the treasures of the new Grand Egyptian Museum, including the King Tutankhamen Exhibition Hall. In the afternoon visit the Khan El Khalili Bazaar and the Muiz Street in Old Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.

Homeric Tours highly recommends that all our passengers purchase travel insurance. We offer a cost-effective, comprehensive insurance plan that protects you in cases such as having to cancel your trip for medical reasons, leaving your trip early due to an emergency, getting reimbursed in case your baggage arrives late, and so on.

We offer two separate plans: one for passengers who purchase only air tickets from us and the other for passengers who purchase land-only services (hotels, cruises, transfers, etc.) or land-and-air packages.

TRAVEL TIPS – EGYPT

EGYPT

PASSPORT/VISA: (It is recommended that your passport has at least six (6) months of validity whenever you travel abroad to avoid unintended travel disruptions. Because rules and regulations frequently change, please inquire about passports validity and visas from the consulate of the foreign country you will visit. Participants with a valid U.S. passport must also obtain a visa from the Egyptian Consulate or upon arrival in Egypt. If you hold a passport of a foreign country, please contact the Egyptian Consulate in your area for information on whether or not you need a visa. Important: Passengers requiring a Schengen Visa must have a multi-entry Schengen Visa if visiting more than one country.) 
CURRENCY: (The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (L.E.) Exchange your money at banks or at the exchange counter at your hotel.) 
BANKING HOURS: (Banks are open 8:30am to 1:00pm every day except Sunday, when hours are 10:00am to 12 noon. Banks close on Friday and Saturday.) 
WHAT TO PACK: (Summer months: Lightweight clothing. A sweater for cool Cairo evenings. At all times: Modesty in clothing should be observed; wear bathing suits and shorts at the beach or swimming pools only. A good rule is to cover your back and shoulders outside of the hotel area.   • Package prices do not include international air travel
  • A supplement of $260.00 will apply to one passenger traveling alone, in addition to the single price.

ITINERARY INFO – EGYPTIAN ESCAPE

Egyptian Escape   starts in Cairo on Thursdays. 

The sequence of the Nile cruise itinerary may vary slightly depending on the cruise ship.

The itinerary is based on the Movenpick Hamees, Royal Lily, and Royal Lotus, sailing from Aswan on Fridays
Passengers sailing on the Sonesta Moon Goddess will begin the cruise on Saturday from Luxor. The cruise itinerary will operate in reverse. The full day Cairo tour will begin on Friday, at the beginning of the Cairo stay.    


In the event of the Esna Lock closing the sightseeing to Luxor will be operated by motor coach.
