Take a Nile Cruise fit for a Pharaoh with visits to the Temple of Philae and Obelisk in Aswan, the temples of Sobek and Haeroris in Kom Ombo and the 2000-year old well-preserved Temple of Horus. In Luxor, visit the West Bank, an archaeological paradise strewn with impressive temples, tombs and the gateway to the amazing Valley of the Kings. The journey to the East Bank of Karnak will excite and amaze you. Escape the routine and experience beauty and power in one of the most thrilling places on earth.


Egyptian Escape starts in Cairo on Thursdays.
  • DAY 1, THU


    Arrival in Cairo. A Homeric Tours representative welcomes you to Egypt and transfers you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
  • DAY 2, FRI


    After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight to Aswan. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your cruise ship. After lunch visit the High Dam, masterpiece of modern engineering built to end the disastrous Nile floods. Continue to the Temple of Philae and Unfinished Obelisk.

  • DAY 3, SAT


    After breakfast sail to Kom Ombo to visit the temple shared by two gods, Sobek and Haeroris. Sail to Edfu.

    Morning visit of the 2000 year old well preserved Temple of Horus. Sail to Luxor via Esna.

    After breakfast visit the most important area of the Nile, the West Bank. The Valley of Kings containing the secretive tombs of New Kingdom Pharaohs, the Valley of Queens, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon. Continue to the East Bank to visit Karnak & Luxor temples before returning to Cairo. Upon arrival at Cairo airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at your hotel.

    After breakfast begin your full day tour, visiting the Egyptian Museum, home of the world�s greatest collections of antiquities from the Pharaonic period. Continue your sightseeing to the Giza Pyramids. Examine Cheops� 4500 year old Great Pyramid. Sneak a peek at the inner of Pharaoh Chephren�s pyramid, son of Cheops, and beware the mighty Sphinx, protector of the Pharaohs. Visit the Khan El Khalili Bazaar before returning to your hotel for overnight.

Prepare for the Unexpected

Homeric Tours highly recommends that all our passengers purchase travel insurance. We offer a cost-effective, comprehensive insurance plan that protects you in cases such as having to cancel your trip for medical reasons, leaving your trip early due to an emergency, getting reimbursed in case your baggage arrives late, and so on.

We offer two separate plans: one for passengers who purchase only air tickets from us and the other for passengers who purchase land-only services (hotels, cruises, transfers, etc.) or land-and-air packages.



PASSPORT/VISA: (It is recommended that your passport has at least six (6) months of validity whenever you travel abroad to avoid unintended travel disruptions. Because rules and regulations frequently change, please inquire about passports validity and visas from the consulate of the foreign country you will visit. Participants with a valid U.S. passport must also obtain a visa from the Egyptian Consulate or upon arrival in Egypt. If you hold a passport of a foreign country, please contact the Egyptian Consulate in your area for information on whether or not you need a visa. Important: Passengers requiring a Schengen Visa must have a multi-entry Schengen Visa if visiting more than one country.) 
CURRENCY: (The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (L.E.) Exchange your money at banks or at the exchange counter at your hotel.) 
BANKING HOURS: (Banks are open 8:30am to 1:00pm every day except Sunday, when hours are 10:00am to 12 noon. Banks close on Friday and Saturday.) 
WHAT TO PACK: (Summer months: Lightweight clothing. A sweater for cool Cairo evenings. At all times: Modesty in clothing should be observed; wear bathing suits and shorts at the beach or swimming pools only. A good rule is to cover your back and shoulders outside of the hotel area. Women should cover their arms when visiting mosques. Bring comfortable shoes for sightseeing.)

SHOPPING: (Cairo is a shopping adventure! Buy brass, copper, inlaid wooden articles, silver and gold jewelry, leather shoes, bags and belt, cotton goods or perfumes. You should be able to bargain up to two thirds off the price originally quoted to you.) 
SHOPS: (Shops are open from 9am to 1pm and from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Shops close on Sundays)

Egyptian Escape   starts in Cairo on Thursdays. 

The sequence of the Nile cruise itinerary may vary slightly depending on the cruise ship.

The itinerary is based on the Movenpick Hamees, Royal Lily, and Royal Lotus, sailing from Aswan on Fridays
Passengers sailing on the Sonesta Moon Goddess will begin the cruise on Saturday from Luxor. The cruise itinerary will operate in reverse. The full day Cairo tour will begin on Friday, at the beginning of the Cairo stay.    

In the event of the Esna Lock closing the sightseeing to Luxor will be operated by motor coach.
