TOUR OVERVIEW

Enchantment abounds in Egypt, the land of the Pharaohs. Have an intimate look at Pharaoh Cheops’ Great Pyramid. Behold the mighty Sphinx, protector of the Pharaohs. Visit the famous Karnak Temple, built by generations of Pharaohs 4500 years ago. Walk amongst kings on the Avenue of Sphinxes. In Cairo, tour the Egyptian Museum, housing the largest collection of antiquities from the Pharaonic period, and wander through the Khan El Khalili bazaar whose vendors offer an array of goods, from soap to semiprecious stones. Cultural wonders abound. The Nile Cruise will sail back in time to when Pharaohs ruled and Kings and Queens established valleys in their names. A mesmerizing light show at the Pyramids in Cairo tops off this royal adventure.

Egyptian Delight starts in Cairo on Saturdays.
  • DAY 1, SAT

    CAIRO

    Arrival in Cairo. A Homeric Tours representative welcomes you to Egypt and transfers you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
  • DAY 2, SUN

    CAIRO

    After breakfast depart for your full day tour. Admire the Great Pyramid of Pharoh Cheops, built 4500 years ago. Sneak a peak at the inner of Pharoh Chephren's pyramid, son of Cheops, and beware of the Sphinx, protector of the Pharohs. After lunch drive to Memphis, Ancient Egypt's first capital, where you will discover Sakkara, the necropolis of this city and site of Djoser's step Pyramid.

  • DAY 3, MON

    CAIRO / LUXOR / NILE CRUISE

    After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight to Luxor. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your cruise ship. Visit the East bank of the Nile to see the famous Karnak Temple-Complex, built by generations of Pharaohs over a 2000 year period. Continue to the Avenue of the Sphinxes and the Exquisite Temple of Luxor with its grand colonnades. Dinner and overnight on board.

  • DAY 4, TUE

    NILE CRUISE

    Today visit the most important area of the Nile by crossing to West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings and Queens where the tombs of the Great Pharaohs with exquisite colors on walls still visible from thousand of years ago. Then proceed to the Valley of the Queen to visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon, before returning to the cruise ship.

    NILE CRUISE

    Sail to Edfu, where you will visit the 2000 year old and well preserved Temple of Horus. Return to the ship and sail to Kom Ombo.

    NILE CRUISE

    This morning visit the Kom Ombo Temple built for Gods Sobek & Haeronis and sail to Aswan. Visit the High Dam, the granite Quarries, the temple of Philae and the unfinished Obelisk. In the afternoon sail on the Nile by felucca around Kitchener's Island.

    NILE CRUISE / ASWAN / CAIRO

    After breakfast disembark in Aswan and transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at your hotel.

    CAIRO

    After breakfast begin a full day tour visiting the Egyptian Museum, containing the largest collection from the Pharaonic period. Afternoon tour of the Citadel of Saladin, the Mosque of Mohamed Ali, Old Cairo's Coptic Church and the century-old ben Ezra Synagogue, followed by a visit to Khan El Khalili bazaar. Tonight you will attend the spectacular Sound & Light show at the Pyramids in Cairo.

Homeric Tours highly recommends that all our passengers purchase travel insurance. We offer a cost-effective, comprehensive insurance plan that protects you in cases such as having to cancel your trip for medical reasons, leaving your trip early due to an emergency, getting reimbursed in case your baggage arrives late, and so on.

We offer two separate plans: one for passengers who purchase only air tickets from us and the other for passengers who purchase land-only services (hotels, cruises, transfers, etc.) or land-and-air packages.

PACKAGE RULES – EGYPTIAN DELIGHT

  • Homeric Tours can provide competitive airfares from USA in conjuction with your tour request.
  • Land-Only prices are per person based on double/triple occupancy.
  • Business class upgrades are available upon request.
  • Package prices do not include international air travel.
  • A supplement of $325.00 will apply to one passenger traveling alone, in addition to the single supplement.

Egyptian Delight starts in Cairo on Saturdays.
The sequence of the Nile cruise itinerary may vary slightly depending on the cruise ship.

The above itinerary is based on the Movenpick Hamees, the Movenpick Royal Lily, and Royal Lotus, Sonesta St. George 1 and Sonesta Star Goddess sailing from Luxor on Mondays.

Passengers sailing on the Sonesta Moon Goddess will begin the cruise on Tuesday from Aswan. The cruise itienrary will operate in reverse. The full day Cairo tour will be given on Monday prior to the cruise.

In the event of Esna Lock closing the sightseeing to Luxor will be operated by motor coach.

BANKING HOURS: (Banks are open 8:30am to 1:00pm every day except Sunday, when hours are 10:00am to 12 noon. Banks close on Friday and Saturday.) 
WHAT TO PACK: (Summer months: Lightweight clothing. A sweater for cool Cairo evenings.
