  • DAY 1

    CAIRO

    Arrival in Cairo. A Homeric Tours representative welcomes you to Egypt and transfers you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
  • DAY 2

    CAIRO

    After breakfast depart for your full day tour. Visit the Egyptian Museum, home of the world's greatest collection of antiquities from the Pharaonic period. Continue your sightseeing to the Giza Pyramids. Examine Cheop's 4500 year old Great Pyramid and sneak a peek at the inner of Pharoh Chephrens pyramid,son of Cheops,and beware the mighty Sphinx,protector of the Parohs. Visit the Khan El Khalili bazaar before returning to your hotel.

    CAIRO

    Today is free to explore Cairo on your own. You may take one of the following optional tours. a) Memphis, the ancient Egypt's first capital and Sakkara. b) Felucca Sail on the Nile c) Alexandria, the city of Cleopatra on the Mediterranean Coast.

  • DAY 4

    CAIRO / LUXOR

    After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight to Luxor. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the East Bank of the Nile, to see the famous Karnak Temple-Complex, built by generations of Pharaohs over a 2000 year period. Continue to the Avenue of the Sphinxes and the Exquisite Temple of Luxor with its grand colonnades.

    LUXOR

    Today visit the most important area of the Nile, the West Bank. Visit the Valley of the Kings and Queens where the tombs of the Great Pharaohs with exquisite colors on walls still visible from thousand of years ago. Proceed to the Valley of the Queens to visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Return to your hotel.

Homeric Tours highly recommends that all our passengers purchase travel insurance. We offer a cost-effective, comprehensive insurance plan that protects you in cases such as having to cancel your trip for medical reasons, leaving your trip early due to an emergency, getting reimbursed in case your baggage arrives late, and so on.

We offer two separate plans: one for passengers who purchase only air tickets from us and the other for passengers who purchase land-only services (hotels, cruises, transfers, etc.) or land-and-air packages.

TRAVEL TIPS – EGYPT

EGYPT

PASSPORT/VISA: (It is recommended that your passport has at least six (6) months of validity whenever you travel abroad to avoid unintended travel disruptions. Because rules and regulations frequently change, please inquire about passports validity and visas from the consulate of the foreign country you will visit. Participants with a valid U.S. passport must also obtain a visa from the Egyptian Consulate or upon arrival in Egypt. If you hold a passport of a foreign country, please contact the Egyptian Consulate in your area for information on whether or not you need a visa. Important: Passengers requiring a Schengen Visa must have a multi-entry Schengen Visa if visiting more than one country.) 
CURRENCY: (The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (L.E.) Exchange your money at banks or at the exchange counter at your hotel.) 
BANKING HOURS: (Banks are open 8:30am to 1:00pm every day except Sunday, when hours are 10:00am to 12 noon. Banks close on Friday and Saturday.) 
WHAT TO PACK: (Summer months: Lightweight clothing. A sweater for cool Cairo evenings. At all times: Modesty in clothing should be observed; wear bathing suits and shorts at the beach or swimming pools only. A good rule is to cover your back and shoulders outside of the hotel area. Women should cover their arms when visiting mosques. Bring comfortable shoes for sightseeing.) 
HEALTH PRECAUTIONS: (Drink only bottled water with no ice. Eat in the hotel restaurants or in well-known leading restaurants.) 
ELECTRICITY: (The current is 200 volts, 50 cycles in Cairo and most areas. Wall plugs are the round, two-pronged European type.)

SHOPPING: (Cairo is a shopping adventure! Buy brass, copper, inlaid wooden articles, silver and gold jewelry, leather shoes, bags and belt, cotton goods or perfumes. You should be able to bargain up to two thirds off the price originally quoted to you.) 
SHOPS: (Shops are open from 9am to 1pm and from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Shops close on Sundays)
