Arrival in Lisbon. Assistance at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Lisbon. -
DAY 2
LISBON
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Belém district to see the monuments that pay tribute to the Portuguese golden era of the Discoveries: Belém Tower (glimpse), Monument to the Discoveries (glimpse), Monastery of Jerónimos (visit the church). Visit to the National Coaches Museum, containing one of the most important and richest collections of coaches in the world. We will then visit old Lisbon, Alfama, known by its white houses, labyrinthine streets, inner courtyards, and dead ends. Return to the hotel. Afternoon free. Overnight in Lisbon.Breakfast included -
DAY 3
LISBON / SINTRA / CASCAIS / ESTORIL / LISBON
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the hotel towards Sintra, a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage site. Discover the charms and history of the town that enchanted kings and poets. Visit the romantic Pena Palace or Sintra’s Royal Palace (subject to availability). If the weather allows, we will stop at the western point of mainland Europe, Cabo da Roca. On the way to Cascais, along the coast, be dazzled by the seascape. In Estoril, the place where Ian Fleming got inspired for the James Bond movies, we highlight the gardens of the Casino. DAY 4
LISBON / VILAMOURA
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the railway station and departure by train to Algarve, located in the extreme south of Portugal. Protected by mountains to the north and bathed by the sea to the south, the Algarve is without a doubt the most touristic region in the country. The coast, cut by cliffs and extensive sands, offers magnificent views. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Vilamoura.Breakfast included -
DAY 5
SAGRES / CAO DE SAO VICENTE / LAGOS / PONTA DA PIEDADE
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day tour around the western Algarve region. Start with visits to Sagres, a promontory known for its fortress (visit), and Cabo de São Vicente, the most southwestern point in Europe, with an impressive view of the ocean. Continue to Lagos, where Henrique, the Navigator, had the first ships built for his sea expeditions. Lagos has become a famous seaside resort. Overview of Ponta da Piedade, a natural place known for its magnificent rock formations, one of the most extraordinary places in the Algarve. Free time for shopping. DAY 6
LOULE / FARO
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Loulé, one of the busiest towns in the Algarve countryside. Discover its picturesque covered market, built in 1908 and renovated in 2007 and whose main design elements were inspired by North African designs (closed on Sundays). The interior of the market is filled with family stalls selling products produced locally or locally sourced products, such as fish, fruits, vegetables, and a wide variety of handicrafts. In the afternoon, visit of Faro, the capital of the Algarve and the region’s international gateway. Guided tour of the old Moorish village located next to the Ria Formosa. FARO
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Transfer to Faro airport.Breakfast included
