Discover the ancient sites of the city of Athens including the famous Acropolis and its museum, and dine in one of the many traditional Greek Tavernas. Enjoy a 4-day classical tour to Mycenae, Epidaurus, Olympia, Delphi & Meteora and visit some of the finest Greek archaeological sites. Travel to Italy where you can admire the famous David by Michelangelo in Florence and visit the Duomo complex and the Giotto's bell tower and Baptistery. Enjoy your Rome sightseeing on your motor coach bus and take optional excursions to see more fascinating sites of this eternal city.

    ATHENS

    Arrival in Athens. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

  • DAY 2, SUN

    ATHENS

    After breakfast board the motor coach for your morning sightseeing tour of Athens, including a visit to the Acropolis and its museum, the Panathenaikon Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games took place in 1896 and much more. Afternoon at leisure.

    ATHENS / MYCENAE / OLYMPIA

    Today begin your Classical Tour of Greece. Millenniums of history unfold as you visit the archaeological sites of Mycenae and Epidaurus. Drive on to Olympia for dinner and overnight.

  • DAY 4, TUE

    OLYMPIA / DELPHI

    Morning visit of the ancient site of Olympia, site of the ancient Olympic Games, and its museum. Drive via Patras and Rion to Delphi for dinner and overnight.

    DELPHI / KALAMBAKA

    Morning visit of the archaeological site of Delphi and its museum. Travel on to Kalambaka for dinner and overnight.

    KALAMBAKA / METEORA / ATHENS

    This morning visit the breathtaking monasteries at Meteora. Begin your drive back to Athens in the afternoon. Evening return to Athens.

    You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Rome. Overnight in Rome.

    ROME

    Meet your guide at the Vatican and visit the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. The Vatican tour will focus on the must-see and famous masterpieces of the Vatican, including the Sistine Chapel, the Raphael Rooms, Michelangelo's Dome, Pinecone Courtyard, St. Peter's Basilica and St. Peter's Square, where you will end your tour.

    ROME

    Taking the time to explore places on your own is essential when getting to know a new city. Take time to stop for coffee or visit Roman neighborhoods such as Monti or Trastevere. The best way to see the city is to walk, where undoubtedly you'll unearth wonderful finds, such as the intoxicating aroma of a bakery or handmade leather goods. If you would like, we could organize a day outside of the city, visiting a vineyard and enjoying a lovely lunch on the countryside, or see the Villa d'Este in Tivoli, famous for its Renaissance gardens and art-filled palace.

  • DAY 10, MON

    ROME / FLORENCE

    Make your own way to the Railway Station and board a comfortable train to Florence. Upon arrival, reach your hotel in the heart of the city. In the late afternoon, meet your guide for a walking tour of Florence. Explore this wonderful city and discover the sculptures, frescoes and paintings. You will visit three churches - the Duomo, Santa Trinita and Orsanmichele. Afterwards you will walk through the medieval center of the city, passing the Baptistery, the Bell Tower, Gates of Paradise, Bunelleschi's Dome, Piazza della Signore, Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio, along with Medieval towers and Renaissance palaces. Overnight in Florence.

    FLORENCE

    You will spend today at leisure. Enjoy the day exploring the city or choose to visit the countless beautiful villages nearby, such as Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Montepulciano and Chianti. Whether your interest is food and wine, art, architecture, museums or history, you will find the perfect experience for you.

    FLORENCE

    Transfer to Florence airport for your flight back home or to the rail station for an optional two-night extension to Venice.

Homeric Tours highly recommends that all our passengers purchase travel insurance. We offer a cost-effective, comprehensive insurance plan that protects you in cases such as having to cancel your trip for medical reasons, leaving your trip early due to an emergency, getting reimbursed in case your baggage arrives late, and so on.

We offer two separate plans: one for passengers who purchase only air tickets from us and the other for passengers who purchase land-only services (hotels, cruises, transfers, etc.) or land-and-air packages.

  • Tours can be extended as desired. Please inquire.
  • A Greece accommodation tax of up to 4 euros per person per night is additional and will need to be paid directly to the hotel upon check-out.
  • Rome and Florence city tax is not included and must be paid locally to the hotels.
  • Prices are per person, based on double occupancy. Triple occupancy and children prices are available upon request.
