Itinerary

Big South And Kasbahs starts in Marrakech on Saturdays.
  • DAY 1, SAT

    MARRAKECH

    Arrival in Marrakech. You will be met and transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Diner and overnight at the hotel.

    MARRAKECH

    After breakfast explore the famous Majorelle Garden and the museum with the intriguing history due to the connection with the iconic designer, Yves Saint Laurent. In the afternoon visit of the Menara Gardens and tour on the Palmeraie area. Dinner and overnight in Marrakesh.

  • DAY 3, MON

    MARRAKECH

    Today depart for a full-day tour of Marrakech. Visit the Bahia Palace and Koutoubia Minaret. After lunch visit the famous Djemaa El Fna square with its surrounding souks and handcraft quarters. Tonight enjoy a Moroccan dinner with Fantasia Show.

  • DAYS 4, TUE

    MARRAKECH / KASBAH TELOUET /KASBAH AIT BENHADOU / OUARZAZATE

    After breakfast, depart by 4WD to Ouarzazate via Atlas Mountains. Passing through the Tich'n Tichka pass at an altitude of 2260m via Telouet which is on the old caravan route to the Sahara desert. Visit the Kasbah Ait Benhadou, the most famous and best preserved Kasbah of southern Morocco protected by the UNESCO. Continue with panoramic visit of the city of Ouarzazate including a stop in front of the Kasbah of Taourirt. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

  • DAY 5, WED

    OURZAZATE / TINGHIR / ERFOUD /MERZOUGA

    After breakfast, drive to Boumalen and El Kelaa via the road of thousand Kasbahs, passing by Skoura. On the way pass Kasbah of Amerhidel. Visit of Canyon Dades and continue to Tinghir famous of it's magnificent Todra canyons. Possibility of a short hike. Continue to Erfoud, then on to Merzouga. Dinner and overnight in Merzouga under desert tents.

  • DAY 6, THU

    MERZOUGA / ALNIF / ZAGORA

    Early morning a short walk to admire the golden sunrise over the sand dune of Merzouga. Return to tent for a Berber breakfast before departing for Zagora via the village of Rissani. Continue to Alnif a small Berber village. Continue to Zagora via Tazzarine and Taghbalt. Dinner and overnight in Zagora.

  • DAY 7, FRI

    ZAGORA / OUARZAZATE / MARRAKECH

    After breakfast, depart to Marrakech, passing by Agdz, heading forward on the track road through numerous villages and palm groves along Daraa River to Ouarzazate. Continue to Marrakech through the Tizin Tichka pass. Dinner and overnight.

CLOTHING: (Light cotton clothing is recommended during the day and a light jacket, shawl or sweater for the evening. The desert can be cold at night, even in the summer. Comfortable sandals or walking shoes are advisable for tours and sightseeing. Women may be more comfortable wearing slacks while visiting the souks. One may dress more formally in the evening.)
FOOD & DRINK: (Moroccan cuisine is fantastic! Make sure you try the local specialties such as Couscous, Harira, Tajine of meat or chicken, Kefta, Lemon Chicken and Pastilla. The national drink is delicious Mint Tea that warms and refreshes at the same time. Bottled water is available everywhere.)
CLIMATE: (Morocco boasts an ideal climate for vacationers, with 300 days of sunshine a year. The coastal areas are particularly pleasant. The summers are warm but not too hot, winters are fair and mild. Inland climate is temperate and dry.)
