Air France

Checked Baggage
Economy Class passengers traveling between the USA and Europe are allowed to check in one piece of luggage free of charge.  First and Business Class passengers are allowed up to two pieces of luggage, free of charge.

The permitted size, which is the total of height, width and length, may not exceed 62 inches.

The maximum luggage weight for First and Business class passengers is 50 lbs each and 50 lbs for Economy Class passengers

Carry-on Baggage
Baggage allowance for Economy Class passengers is one standard baggage item that respects the following maximum dimensions:  21in x 13in x 9.8in – and one accessory (handbag, notebook computer, camera, etc.  Maximum total weight (standard baggage + accessory) is 12 kg / 26.5 lbs.

First and Business Class passengers are allowed 1 standard baggage item that respects the following maximum dimensions:  21in x 13in x 9.8in – and one small baggage item that respects the following maximum dimensions:  17.7in x 7.8in x 13.7in – and one accessory (handbag, notebook computer, camera, etc).  Maximum total weight (standard baggage + small baggage + accessory): 39.6 lbs.

Alitalia

Checked Baggage
Economy Class passengers traveling between the USA and Europe are allowed to check in one piece of luggage, max. weight 50 lbs, free of charge.  First and Business Class passengers are allowed up to three pieces of luggage, max weight 50 lbs each, free of charge.

Carry-on Baggage
Personal belongs such as briefcases and portable computers are considered to be hand luggage which you can take onboard.  This also applies to crutches and strollers, although these will have to be checked in, labeled and stowed in the hold if there is not enough space onboard.

Economy and First class passengers are allowed to carry only one pieces of hand luggage onboard which must not exceed 17.6 lbs and the following dimensions (including handles, side pockets and wheels):   21in x 9.8in x 13.7in

Continental Airlines

Checked Baggage
Economy Class passengers are allowed to check in one piece of luggage with a maximum weight of 50 pounds, free of charge.  First and Business Class passengers are allowed up to two pieces of luggage, free of charge.

Carry-on Baggage
Continental will permit one bag plus one personal item, per customer, to be carried on the aircraft.  The maximum combined linear measurement (L + W + H) of the carry-on bag is 45 inches up to 14in x 9in x 22in.  The maximum weight of the carry-on bag is 40 pounds.

In addition to one carry-on item, you may bring, free of charge, the below items:

One small personal article such as a briefcase, purse, day planner, small laptop computer, camera case, compact disk play or similar sized personal entertainment item
Personal aid devices such as wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches, prosthetic devices and walking sticks, provided passenger is dependent on them
One infant article such as a small collapsible stroller, a diaper bag or a government approved child seat.  Larger strollers can be checked in the jetway prior to boarding the aircraft.
Full-size video game consoles, full-size DVD players and video cameras that use video cassettes
CPAP breathing machines

Carry-on Baggage
You may carry on one bag and one personal item at no charge.  Please note that all items must easily fit into the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and may not exceed 45 linear inches in combined length, width and height.

Approved personal carry-on items: 

1 hand bag, briefcase, camera bag or diaper bag

or 1 laptop computer

or 1 item of a similar or smaller size to those listed above

Additional approved carry-on items:

Jacket or umbrella
Food or drink purchased after clearing the security checkpoint
Duty free merchandise

World Business Class/Europe Select passengers are allowed one carry-on bag measuring 21.5in x 10in x 13.5in (l x w x h) and one additional bag smaller than 18in x 8in x 13.5in (l x w x h).   One of the following additional accessories is also permitted:  handbag, briefcase, camera, small laptop or one item of similar or smaller size.  Your carry-on baggage, including accessories, may not exceed 40 lbs.

Carry-on Baggage
Economy Class passengers are allowed one piece of carry-on baggage, not exceeding 21.6in x 15.7in x 7.8in in dimension and 8kg in weight.  First Class and Business Class passengers are allowed two pieces of luggage, each weight max 17.6 lbs, which cannot exceed 21.6in x 15.7in x 7.8in in size.

In addition to the hand baggage, the following items are allowed on board if necessary (except infants):

1 coat or blanket
1 umbrella or walking stick
1 ladies’ handbag
1 small camera or 1 set of binoculars

Traveling with an infant, the following items are allowed on board:

1 baby carrier or 1 collapsible stroller or 1 car seat

Baby food for use on board

For passengers with restricted mobility:

1 collapsible wheelchair (in freight compartment)
1 pair of crutches and/or splint for arm or leg or any kind of prostheses
Medical equipment (e.g. dialysis equipment in the amount required for the journey) you depend on

Carry-on Baggage
For worldwide travel on any United flight, you may carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse, briefcase or laptop computer.  You carry-on bag must fit under your seat or in the overhead bin, must not be more than 9in x 14in x 22in (or 45 linear inches) and may be required to travel as checked baggage if the bag cannot be safely stowed on the flight.

The following personal items are not counted toward your one bag and one personal item limit:

Assistance devices (canes, crutches, etc)
Child safety seats for tickets children
Infant restraint devices (infant seat with or without stroller, front pouch or back carrier)
Outer garments (coats, hats, etc)
Reading material (a reasonable amount)

Umbrellas (one per passengers)

Food and beverages to be consumed onboard
