Explore the Eternal City of Rome. Tour the Vatican, walk the Spanish steps, the Piazza Navona “home of the carbonara” and the Campi Dei Fiori. Visit a temple to the Gods at the Pantheon, a 2000-year old temple and the best-preserved antiquity of Rome’s great monuments. The journey continues south to Pompeii, the ruins destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius. On to Sorrento for the local fare at the Piazza Tasso and to discover the city’s historical center. Take a scenic drive of the Amalfi Coast to the picturesque towns of Poistano, Amalfi, Minori, Vietri and more, and marvel at the magnificence of the Amalfi Gulf.

    Arrival in Rome. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Tonight meet your Tour Director and your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

    This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to the Vatican City for a guided tour of the Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. Discover all masterpieces of Greek and Roman ancient art, works of Raphael, Michelangelo and Caravaggio. Late afternoon, meet your escort for a walking tour of the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the Baroque quarter.

    Day at leisure to discover this Eternal City on your own.

    Today we depart Rome on a very short (1 hour) train ride to Naples. From there, we transfer to the magical Amalfi Coast and settle in Sorrento for the next four nights .

    Today enjoy a scenic drive of the breathtaking Amalfi Coast to the picturesque towns of Amalfi, and Ravello. Marvel at the magnificent view of the Amalfi Gulf while enjoying a self prepared cold lemonade from lemons picked at a local grove. Return to Sorrento.

    You will have a chance to visit one of the most interesting sites in the world – the ruins of Pompeii. The Roman settlement destroyed by the eruption of the Vesuvius. The afternoon is at leisure to possibly take a part in the cooking class or visit the Limencello factory. Tonight, you will enjoy the dinner at the local restaurant.

    The day is at leisure to explore this picturesque town on your own or take an optional excursion to the island of Capri, a favorite to Roman Emperors, and rich and famous artists and writers.

Homeric Tours highly recommends that all our passengers purchase travel insurance. We offer a cost-effective, comprehensive insurance plan that protects you in cases such as having to cancel your trip for medical reasons, leaving your trip early due to an emergency, getting reimbursed in case your baggage arrives late, and so on.

We offer two separate plans: one for passengers who purchase only air tickets from us and the other for passengers who purchase land-only services (hotels, cruises, transfers, etc.) or land-and-air packages.



PASSPORT/VISA: (It is recommended that your passport have at least six months of validity whenever you travel abroad to avoid unintended travel disruptions. Because rules and regulations frequently change, please inquire about passports validity and visas from the consulate of the foreign country you will visit. CURRENCY: (The unit of currency is the Euro. Coinage is available in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents with 1 and 2 Euros. Bank notes come in units of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 Euros. We suggest you exchange your money in a bank, as opposed to the hotel, in order to get the best exchange rate. Banks are open from 8am to 1:30pm and 3:00-4:00pm from Monday to Friday.) 
ELECTRICAL CURRENT: (The voltage may vary from 125 to 220 in the cities. It is best to travel with dual current appliances with plug adapters.) 
TIME: (Italy is six hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. Daylight Savings Time is in effect from the end of March to the end of September.)
