Athens Sightseeing Tour
Half-day (morning)
Daily Year round
Departs 8:45am, Returns 12:30pm

Enjoy a tour of Athens, combining many of the city's principal modern and classical sights. This tour includes an overview of the modern city and striking contrasts to the remains of its glorious past. Drive by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on Constitution Square, the Panathenian Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896). See vistas of the Presidential Palace (ex Royal Palace), government buildings and elegant homes. Drive along Panepistimiou Avenue and view the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, University, National Library and Omonia Square. In contrast, we visit the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus and the crowning beauty and glory that was Athens, the Acropolis with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens

Your evening dinner/tour begins with a pleasant scenic drive through the illuminated boulevards of Athens, as far as Piraeus, Greece's principal commercial port. Continue to Marina Zea, one of the busiest yacht harbors in the Mediterranean and home port to many luxury pleasure yachts belonging to Greece's ship owning and international jet-set communities. From here, a short drive to Mikrolimano, another picturesque yacht and fishing boat harbor, home to the ex Royal Yacht Club and many fine waterfront seafood restaurants. We finally return to Athens and the renowned "Plaka" district, located around the base of the Acropolis, for dinner with live floor show at a typical Greek taverna.

Sounion

Driving along the coastal road past the wonderful beaches of GLYFADA, VOULIAGMENI, VARKIZA and countless coves, one has a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf. A crowning feature of the tour Cape SOUNION, dominated by the spectacular Temple of POSSEIDON overlooking the Aegean Sea.


One-Day Mycenae - Epidaurus

From Nov 1 - March 31 - Every Tuesday & Saturday
Departs 8:45am, Returns 7pm

CORINTH canal o MYCENAE (visit) o ARGOS o NAUPLIA o EPIDAURUS (visit) o ATHENS.
Drive along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf to MYCENAE, visit the remains of the ancient city, aa including the lionesses gate, the tomb of Agamemnon and the Palace. Then through ARGOS on to NAUPLIA. After lunch visit EPIDAURUS and its theatre, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Return to A
thens via the Epidaurus / Corinth road.


Ancient Corinth
Half Day (morning)
From April 13 - October 31 - Every Mon & Friday
Departs 8:45am, Returns 2pm

Starting from Athens we drive westwards along the scenic coast, until we reach the Corinth Canal with its breathtaking views (short stop). Shortly thereafter we reach the ancient town of Corinth (visit) where St. Paul lived and preached for two years. Back in the ancient times Corinth was amongst the richest cities and this is quite evident by its remains, including the huge agora (market place) and Apollo's Temple (6th C.B.C) brief stop at the site of the ancient port of Kechreai where St. Paul disembarked.
Return to Athens in time for lunch.


One-Day Delphi
Full Day
From April 1 - October 31 - Daily
From Nov 1 - March 31 - Every Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
Departs: 8:45am, Returns 7pm

LEVADIA o ARACHOVA o DELPHI (visit) o ATHENS
Drive through LEVADIA and ARACHOVA (famous for its bright multi colored carpets). Arrive in DELPHI, the ancient sanctuary of Apollo. Visit the Museum where one can see among other archaeological treasures, the unique bronze Charioteer, then proceed through the sacred way to the Athenian treasury. Visit the Temple of Apollo. Return to Athens by the same route.


Two-Day Mycenae - Epidaurus
2 Days (on Halfboard basis)
From April 1 - October 31 - Every Tuesday & Wednesday
Departs 8:45am, Returns 7pm

1st DAY: CORINTH Canal o Drive to MYCENAE the legendary home of the Atreides, where you visit the archaeological site and then depart for NAUPLIA (lunch). Afternoon at leisure and overnight. (L)

2nd DAY: NAUPLIA - Morning at leisure and then depart for EPIDAURUS - visit the archaeological site and the theatre famous for its remarkable acoustic o Drive back to ATHENS (B)

Participants on this tour will have an afternoon and morning at leisure for swimming or strolling through the streets of NAUPLIA, first capital of Modern Greece. On the way back, drive along the new Epidaurus - Corinth road.



Two-Day Delphi

1st DAY: Drive to DELPHI through LEVADIA and ARACHOVA. Visit the archaeological site and afternoon at leisure.

1st DAY: Drive to DELPHI through LEVADIA and ARACHOVA. Arrive at Delphi and visit of the archaeological site. Depart for KALAMBAKA. Drive through the towns of Central Greece (AMPHISSA, LAMIA and TRIKALA) crossing the Thessalian plain, the granary of GREECE, to reach KALAMBAKA. Overnight. (D)


2nd DAY: Morning visit of the breathtaking METEORA and its monasteries built on the top of high rocks. Then start the drive back to ATHENS passing through THERMOPYLAE where LEONIDAS was killed (visit) and KAMENA VOURLA. (B)

Three-Day Delphi - Meteora

Transfer by motorcoach from Athens to Piraeus Port and embark on the cruise ship.

Sail for the island of HYDRA. In Hydra you have time at leisure for strolling, shopping or swimming. In the early afternoon sail for the island of AEGINA, passing through the narrow strait separating the Peloponnesian coast from the island of  POROS.  Upon arrival in Aegina you can either join the excursion to the Temple of Aphaia (extra cost ) or walk around the main town.
Lunch is served on board. Sailing to Poros for short visit. Finally, reembark for the sail back to Piraeus Port.

4th DAY: In the morning, visit the breathtaking METEORA and in the early afternoon start the drive back to ATHENS passing via THERMOPYLAE (visit) and KAMMENA VOURLA (B)

6th DAY: Morning drive to PELLA, Alexander the Great's capital (visit). Continue to VERGINA to visit the Tomb of the King PHILIP and the famous ''VERGINA TREASURES''. Then on to LEFKADIA where you visit the excavations. Return to THESSALONIKI via VERIA. Dinner & Overnight. (B.D.)
