Day 1, Sun: Amman
Arrive in Amman. A Homeric Tours representative welcomes you to Jordan and transfers you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. (D)
Day 2, Mon: amman / bethany / mt. nebo / madaba/dead sea
After breakfast begin your tour. Visit Madaba, home of the most famous Byzantine mosaics. Drive to Mt. Nebo, the alleged burial site of Moses, with its spectacular view of the Holy Land. Continue to Bethany, the baptism site of Jesus Christ. After Bethany, drive to the Dead Sea for overnight. (B,D)
Day 3, Tue: Dead sea / petra
Morning at leisure. In the afternoon drive to the ancient city of Petra. Overnight in Petra. (B,D)
Day 4, Wed: petra
After breakfast visit the fascinating city of Petra, ‘The Rose City’, which was built by the Nabateans 2000 years ago, who hewed their monumental tombs, palaces, temples and treasury from the desert rock’s sandstone in its natural hues of rose and gold. (B,D)
Day 5, Thu: petra / amman / Cairo
Today you will be transferred to the airport in Amman for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo a Homeric Tours representative welcomes you to Egypt and transfers you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. (B)
Day 6, Fri: Cairo
After breakfast begin your full day tour, visiting the Egyptian Museum, home of the world’s greatest collections of antiquities from the Pharaonic period. Continue your sightseeing to the Giza Pyramids. Admire Cheops’ 4500 year old Great Pyramid. Sneak a peek at the inner of Chephren's pyramid, son of Cheops, and beware the mighty Sphinx, protector of the Pharaohs. Visit the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar before returning to your hotel for overnight. (B,L)
Day 7, Sat: Cairo / aswan / nile cruise
After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight to Luxor. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your cruise ship. After lunch visit the East Bank of the Nile to see the famous Karnak Temple-Complex, built by generations of Pharaohs over 2000 year period. Continue to the Avenue of the Sphinxes and the exquisite Temple of Luxor with its grand colonnades. Dinner and overnight on board. (B,L,D)
Day 8, Sun: nile cruise
Today visit the most important area of the Nile by crossing to West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings where the tombs of the Great Pharaohs with exquisite colors still visible on the walls from thousands of years ago. Then proceed to the Valley of the Queen to visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Return to the cruise ship for dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)
Day 9, Mon: nile cruise
Sail to Edfu, where you will visit the 2000 year old and well preserved Temple of Horus. Sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple built for the gods Sobek & Haeronis. Sail to Aswan. (B,L,D)
Day 10, Tue: nile cruise / luxur / Cairo
After breakfast disembark in Aswan. Visit the High Dam, the Granite Quarries and the Temple of Philae before returning to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. (B)
Day 11, Wed: Cairo
After breakfast transfer to Cairo airport. (B)
While in Jordan -on Day 3, Tuesday you may take an optional tour to the National Resort of Wadi Rum, also known as "The Valley of the Moon" for its awesome moonlike landscape. Enjoy a 2-hour ride in the desert by a 4 x 4 vehicle.
