Day 1, Sat: Zagreb
Upon arrival in Zagreb, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is at leisure. Welcome dinner. (D)
Day 2, Sun: Zagreb
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour featuring the historic Upper Town, St. Mark's Church, St. Cathrine's Church, the Cathedral, the Parliament and the Government Palace. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the winding streets of the old town. (B)
Day 3, Mon: Zagreb / Sarajevo
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Today, journey south to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Rest of the day is at leisure. (B,D)
Day 4, Tue: Sarajevo / Dubrovnik
City tour of Sarajevo visiting the picturesque Turkish Bazaar, the Husref Bay’s Mosque, Olympic Stadium and Gavrilo Princip Museum. Continue through the mountains and along the gorge of the Neretva River to Mostar. Travel on to Dubrovnik. (B,D)
Day 5, Wed: Dubrovnik
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Today, your guided walking tour of “Old Dubrovnik” includes the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column and the Sponza Palace. You will also see the Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with its’ Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is at leisure. (B)
Day 6, Thu: Dubrovnik / Montenegro / Dubrovnik
Today, travel towards the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro, the longest and deepest fjord in Southern Europe. Enjoy a boat ride to the islet of Our Lady of the Rocks. Stop in Perast and the city of Kotor before returning to Dubrovnik. (B)
Day 7, Fri: Dubrovnik / Split
After breakfast, depart Dubrovnik and travel north to Split. Enjoy a city tour featuring the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its’ Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral. (B,D)
Day 8, Sat: Split / Trogir /Plitvice Lakes
This morning, we travel to Trogir, the center of artistic activities. Scholars from around the world gather to study and paint here. Then travel to Plitvice Lakes National Park. (B,D)
Day 9, Sun: Plitvice Lakes
Today, enjoy a full day in Plitvice National Park, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the breathtaking scenery of the natural wonder with 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. The rest of the day is at leisure. (B,D)
Day 10, Mon: Plitvice lakes/ Opatija / Postojna / Ljubljana
After breakfast, travel to the beautiful bay of Kvarner and its popular resort of Opatija. An orientation tour of Opatija will preset the highlights of this former resort city. Drive into Slovenia and Postojna Caves, home to one of the largest caves in Europe. Tour the fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train. Continue to Ljubljana for overnight. (B)
Day 11, Tue: Ljubljana / Bled / Ljubljana
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Ljubljana. Contnue your sightseeing to Bled, the charming town with the lakeshore and imposing Bled Castle. Return to Ljubljana in the evening. (B)
Day 12, Wed: Ljubljana / Trieste / Venice
After breakfast travel south to Trieste for an orientation tour and visit to Miramare Castle and its park. Then continue on to the marvelous city of Venice. (B)
Day 13, Thu: Venice
Today, begin with a walking tour of Venice featuring the major highlights: St. Mark's Square, St. Mark's Basilica, the Doge's Palace, the Bell Tower and the Bridge of Sighs. The tour ends with a visit to a glass blowing factory where you may see the demonstration of a traditional Venetian glass blowing. Balance of the day is at leisure. In the afternoon, enjoy Venice at your own pace, shop or join an optional gondola ride. Farewell dinner at local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 14, Fri: Venice
After breakfast you will be transfered to the airport. (B)
