Day 1, Sun: Pafos
Arrive Larnaca. You will be met and transferred to your hotel in Pafos. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2, Mon: Pafos
Full day at leisure to explore on your own this beautiful town, which is the home to many treasures. Admire the mosaics in villas dating back to the Roman period depicting scenes from Greek mythology. Visit the equally impressive underground Tombs of the Kings carved out of solid rock and decorated with Doric pillars. Or visit the St. Paul's Pillar where legent has it the Apostle was flogged before converting the Roman governor to Christianity and making Cyprus the first country in the world to be governed by a Christian. After breakfast your tour begins with a trip to Kourion, one of the most impressive archaeological sites of the island. Visit the House of Eustolios with its 5th century mosaics and Roman baths. Next stop is the castle of Kolossi. This Crusader era castle is surrounded by flowering plants and a pretty courtyard. Lunch at the village of Apsiou. In the next village of Monagri try some of the traditional sweets, Loukoumades. Continue to the Troodos Mountains to visit the village of Omodhos where your will have free time to wander its narrow streets with Byzantine buildings. The village produces a lot of wine and holds a wine festival every August. Before leaving sample some of the delicious wines produced in this region. At the end of the tour a photo stop is scheduled at the Petra of Romiou, an off-shore rock where, according to mythology, the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite, rose from the waves. (B,L)
Day 4, Wed: Pafos
Full day at leisure to enjoy the sea and the sun. (B)
Day 5, Thu: Pafos / Lemesos
After breakfast you will be met and transferred to Lemesos for your 3-day stay. Upon arrival check-in at your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. (B)
Day 6, Fri: Lemesos
A full day at leisure to relax by the beach or to explore Lemesos on your own. (B)
This morning your tour will bring you to the village of Arsos built on the slopes of Laona mountain, 1092 metres above sea level. Since the most ancient times, it has developed into a big rich wine-producing village. Continue to Kykkos monastery via the forest and mountain villages. Kykkos monastery was founded about 900 years ago and it is the largest and most lavish religious institution in Cyprus. It is set high in the hills west of the Troodos Mountains and it is renowned for its colonnaded cloisters, pretty courtyards and rainbow-colored mosaics. Drive to Foini village, one of the most beautiful mountain villages of Cyprus famous for its pottery. Enjoy a traditional Cypriot lunch at a village tavern. Free time to visit the local herb shops and taste fresh herbal tea. (B,L)
Day 8, Sun: Lemesos
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport in Larnaca. (B)
