
DAY 1, MON – NEW YORK
Depart USA for an overnight flight to Athens. Full
service on board.
DAY 2, TUE – ATHENS
Arrival in Athens. A Homeric Tours representative
welcomes you to Greece and transfers you to your
hotel.
DAY 3, WED – ATHENS
Morning sightseeing tour of Athens. Visit the
Acropolis and the world-famous on-site museum.
Spend the afternoon at leisure, or explore this
fascinating city on your own. (B)
DAY 4, THU – ATHENS / MYCANAE / OLYMPIA:
Today, begin your Classical Tour of Greece.
Millenniums of history unfold as you visit the
archaeological sites of Mycanae and Epidaurus. Drive
on to Olympia for dinner and overnight. (D)
DAY 5, FRI – OLYMPIA / DELPHI:
Morning visit of the ancient site of Olympia, site
of
the ancient Olympic Games. Drive via Patras and
Rion to Delphi for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
DAY 6, SAT – DELPHI / KALAMBAKA:
Morning visit of the archaeological site of Delphi
and its museum. Travel on to Kalambaka for dinner
and overnight. (B,D)
DAY 7, SUN – KALAMBAKA / METEORA / ATHENS:
This morning visit the breathtaking monasteries of
Meteora. Begin your drive back to Athens in the
afternoon. Evening return to Athens. (B)
DAY 8, MON - ATHENS / PIRAEUS / MYKONOS:
After breakfast, transfer to Piraeus to board the
ship
for your 4-Day cruise to the Greek Islands and
Turkey. Arrive in Mykonos, known for its hundreds of
chapels that dot the island. Visit the many chic
boutiques or find a table at the waterfront and
enjoy the serenity.
DAY 9, TUE – KUSADASI / PATMOS:
Arrive Kusadasi where you can take an excursion to
the ancient city of Ephesus. Then on to Patmos and take
an optional excursion to the Monastery and Cave
where John the Divine wrote the Book of Revelation. (B,L,D)
DAY 10, WED – RHODES:
Arrive early morning in Rhodes where you will
spend a full day. Take an optional excursion to the City
of Rhodes and the rocky Acropolis of Lindos to visit
the Temple of Athena. (B,L,D)
DAY 11, THU – HERAKLION / SANTORINI:
Arrive in Heraklion, the capital of Crete. Take an
optional excursion to the city of Heraklion, the
Museum and the Palace of King Minos at Knossos.
Sail on to Santorini. Take an optional excursion to
the
excavation site at Akrotiri where recent Minoan
excavations support the theories that Santorini
might
be the fabled continent of Atlantis. (B,L,D)
DAY 12, FRI – PIRAEUS / ATHENS / USA:
Return to Piraeus. Disembark after breakfast and
transfer to the airport for the return flight home.
